Industry

Industry and Promising a Better Future

The government neither in Iran nor anywhere in the world alone cannot cope with the growing number of problems and promise comfort, prosperity and progress to the people.

Mohsen Khalili

The passage of years and going through hardships and difficulties has a lot of pain and suffering, nevertheless it would have been nice if there was always peace and comfort, but it is through hardships and passing through sufferings that a person becomes more human and humanity becomes more meaningful.

For me, as an artisan, going through the sanctions and oppressive pressures, which, of course, we still unfortunately go through its corridors and twists and turns, while believing in individual, corporate and national capabilities, made the need for communication with the world clearer; that by relying on our own capabilities, but in interaction and communication with the international community, we should enhance these capabilities because we cannot live actively and creatively in isolation.

The government neither in Iran nor anywhere in the world alone cannot cope with the growing number of problems and promise comfort, prosperity and progress to the people. In the last one or two years, and especially last year, when the pressure of cruel sanctions almost deprived our country of the possibility of exporting oil, these non-oil exports of more than $30 billion earned outside the government and mainly by the private sector as well as taxes paid by businesses and citizens made economic circulation possible. In fact, the private sector and the vigilant and responsible citizens in todays world are the yardstick of countries development to the extent that they can be considered synonymous and the degree of progress of countries can be measured by the degree of presence and role of citizens and the private sector in the economic activities of that country.

In the opinion of this old craftsman belief in economics is a point that is gaining more and more importance in the public opinion of our country.

In the opinion of this old craftsman belief in economics is a point that is gaining more and more importance in the public opinion of our country. Over the last two or three years and in the face of the severe economic crisis in Iran, the society realized more than ever, that things will not take the right course without economics and through verified unscientific means; therefore, the expectation of the people from the government and state institutions is the adoption of a scientific and rational approach to the great economic problems, sufferings and challenges. The rise and fall of the stock market, which involved tens of millions of shareholders (owners of Justice Stock) was one of the things that made the observance of logic and economic mechanism a vital necessity of the countrys management system. Of course, housing, automobiles, foreign exchange, gold, etc. were among markets last year that made it bitter for our compatriots due to severe instability. For the same reason, the society is now demanding the government to adopt a scientific approach rather than an authoritative one.

The above points, which the author believes are being established in the minds and knowledge of the Iranian people, promise a better future and positive and transformative changes in the reality of life, business and livelihood of the people. From the point of view of this industrial activist and servant of the national economy, there are less genuine and real entrepreneurs and economic activists who consider the sustainability of their firm and business possible through shortcuts and deviations, and demand all kinds of rents, privileges, etc.

What a genuine craftsman and economic activist wants is to solve the root problems and issues and the main factors of reducing profits and increasing unproductive economic activity, which unfortunately is mainly due to inappropriate and wrong policies of governments. Allocation of banking facilities and foreign exchange and low price energy on the one hand, and suppression of prices on the other hand, plus all kinds of uncertainties in the field of domestic and foreign relations are more complex. More over the table of corruption is wider and the field for healthy economic and industrial activity for artisans and real economic activists is becoming narrower. The national economy is also deteriorating and looks pale.

What can be asked of these dear and respected government officials and their esteemed and educated colleagues in the private sector is:

As has been experienced in all developed and industrialized countries and successful countries in the path of development, creating a suitable business environment and having consistent goals, policies and programs and equal opportunities for competition, transparency in government performance and respect for the personality of entrepreneurs and investors and valuing expertise and ... is the way to salvation. So, esteemed statesmen, please formulate your plans on this basis.

Of course, economic activists should also consider principles such as the existence of a clear vision, program and mission, quality improvement and price reduction through increased productivity and research and development, customer orientation, compliance with the principles of corporate governance and social responsibility, etc. Demanding special privileges from governments and application of old and outdated methods of entrepreneurship and lack of modern knowledge and technology, cannot be sustained and survived. Therefore, dear and respected colleagues should seek to improve their technical, scientific and moral capabilities more than before.
